Youth Ministries

Youth Mission

The youth ministry of Presbyterian Church of the Way will strive to be Christ-centered, inspiring youth to be alive in their faith, strong in their beliefs, caring for one another and serving and inviting others in Jesus Christ.

Middle School and High School Youth Groups

Our middle school and senior high youth groups are called the Presbyterian Youth Fellowship and Connection (PYF/C), based on the name of the PC (USA)'s national youth ministry title.

Senior high PYF/C comes together twice a month for games, fellowship Bible time. They also meet once a month for a fun fellowship activity and once a month for a service learning project to the church body or community.

The middle school group gathers twice a month for Bible study and discipleship, as well as joining the senior highs on occasion.

Youth Service and Outreach

PYF/C is also dedicated to service in the name of Christ. We collect food for the area food shelves, participate in national service events such as 30 Hour Famine, volunteer at local nursing homes, put on a community Christmas and summer Vacation Bible School, and partner with other Presbyterian churches in the city.

Youth Confirmation Program

The curriculum is as follows:
8th grade (about 9 months): Foundational, Biblical and relate to students. Build on earlier Sunday school grades, but review on a deeper level. Apply Bible learnings to students’ lives today.
9th grade (about 2˝ months): Faith Statement. What does it mean to be a member of PCOTW? More spiritual, creeds. Internalize and personalize leading to the development of a faith statement and involvement in service and the church, which is the beginning of a faith journey to last a lifetime. Understand what it means to answer the questions of membership at PCOTW.
For more information go to www.pcotw.org/confirmation.html for the complete task force report on our confirmation program.
