Stara School in Nairobi, Kenya

A personal journey identified a mission call to which the Mission Commission quickly responded. Our congregation is helping to feed hundreds of children in the slums of Kenya. Their parents are victims or are dying of AIDS. The kids and the country are at crisis point. Can our church extend our compassion in 2006?

Hunger, Children, and Kenya

World hunger is incomprehensible: every year 15 million children die of hunger. The World Health Organization estimates: 1/3 of the children are well fed 1/3 of the children are underfed 1/3 of the children are starving!! That’s correct: 1/3! 650,000 Kenyan children (in 2003) were orphaned with one or both parents dead from AIDS.
