Suggested Reading: “Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace… One School at a Time” by Greg Mortenson and David Oliver Relin.

"In an age when every politician and talking head has little but rhetoric to offer for the seemingly irreconcilable mess of warfare and cultural conflicts awash in the Middle East and Islamic territories in Central Asia, Mortenson's book is a stunningly simple story of how to make peace in one of the most beautiful places in the world: build schools for girls... Mortenson's mission is a relentlessly positive one, and his ability to reveal the beauty and refuse to accept the brutal reality around him is an inspiring, heroic, and at times even crazy pursuit." ~ The Bloomsbury Review (Denver, CO)

Worship

April 6: Third Sunday of Easter  Text: Luke 5:1-11.
Sermon: “Mission Fishin’” D.J. Jeremiason, Executive Director of Presbyterian Clearwater Forest, Deerwood, MN, preaching.

Christ commands us to be fishers of men. The speaker highlights the "Ah Hah! Moments" of meeting that challenge at the Clearwater Camp..

April 13: Fourth Sunday of Easter Texts: Psalm 23, John 10:1-10.
Sermon: “The Shepherd. The Gate. The Sheep.” Russ Carlson, Music Director, preaching.

The texts give us much imagery about the Lord being the shepherd, the gate that saves and provides for us. Our worship, of course, will have more music in it than most Sundays, and that is what happens when the Director of Music is leading worship!

April 20: Fifth Sunday of Easter
Sermon: “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Kathryn Nichols, Pastoral Intern and Youth Coordinator, preaching.

We celebrate Earth Day.

April 27: Sixth Sunday of Easter Text: Colossians 1:3-7, 9-20.
Sermon: “By the Grace of God.” The Reverend Todd Allen, preaching.

We address the spiritual challenges and opportunities the end of Kathryn Nichols' Pastoral Internship and Youth Coordination offers to PCOTW.
