2008 Habitat
for Humanity
and Holy Hammers Project
The Holy Hammers, our 13-church coalition that partners with Habitat for Humanity, is currently
working on our 2008 project. We're excited to announce that this year the Holy Hammers will have
responsibility for the entire house for a single family. We will be building a two-story house with
a front porch, five bedrooms, two baths, and a garage. The house will be located at 887 Randolph
Ave., in St. Paul.
The foundation was put in last fall and has already been capped, which means that we can start
the project in April. The Holy Hammers will provide at least $70,000 and ten weeks of construction
on this project, beginning April 14th and ending June 27th. The week of June
9-13 will be a Women's Build week, with all-female crews and leaders.
Thank you to all the volunteers who have signed up or already have helped in many ways: recruiting
volunteers; making or delivering meals to the construction site; doing construction work (no skills
required – you'll learn!); organizing the tool crib; telephoning; supporting with your prayers;
writing a check to help with the financial commitment. Donations for the project can be made by
writing a check to your own church, with a notation for Holy Hammers.
