Presbyterian Church of the Way is a growing, Christ-centered, caring loving and learning community, rejoicing in our faith, expanding discipleship, reaching out to others, inviting diversity, and calling for full participation in the ministry.

The mission of Selian Lutheran Hospital is to serve, treat, and minister to the whole person; in body, mind, and spirit. Selian Lutheran Hospital strives to attain this mission by providing competent and compassionate medical care, by promoting health development community projects, and by proclaiming the gospel of
Jesus Christ.

The Mission Commission asked Ingrid and Ron Eggert, long-time PCOTW members who have spent two of the last three years as volunteer missionaries in Tanzania, about possible projects PCOTW could support in Africa. Ron is a physician and Director of Medical Education at Selian Lutheran Hospital in Arusha. Ingrid is a volunteer English and Art teacher in a preschool-kindergarten near Ron's hospital. They suggested several possibilities and felt strongly that education should be supported. After prayerful consideration, the Commission decided to support the full five-year education of a Tanzanian medical student. The student was chosen from a group of several candidates who are 'clinical officers' (like nurse practitioners in the US) at Selian Lutheran Hospital. To see more, click here.
